Threads like this result in heated debates as the direction BMW is heading.
![]() What's funny is people in this thread actually want a xDrive M5 but if BMW came out with one before the news of the E63 becoming 4Matic only, how many of you would say or react negatively saying BMW totally lost their ways, first turbos now AWD on M5? I mean people are actually complaining that BMW is "late" to the game? ![]() |

Fantastic upgrade. That face will most likely be a template for future AMG fascias. As much as I love the corporate predator-faced bumper graphics that are a current AMG trademark, I think this looks both more solid and sophisticated.
I'm not excited about the jump to mandatory AWD (at least in the states). RWD hooliganistics are synonymous with the brand's caricature style. I think this is an unfortunate move necessitated by everyone wanting better performance numbers. I wouldn't give a fuck about straightline stats and lap times if I was a prospective AMG buyer. I want burnouts, powerslides and loud noise.

Coincidence and nothing else. You have to be insane to think that these two designs—both which are thoroughly refined—were a matter of copying one or the other.
There's this concept that many car enthusiasts can't seem to grasp; it's called trending design. Enlarged outer ducts with inserted trim pieces/3D graphics have been increasingly popular and are taking over the traditional 3-section lower fascia template.
