I believe there are special insurance plans out there for race cars / drag cars etc. If not she's probably screwed!

Doesn't mention where it was stolen from and it doesn't mention a locked garage or an alarm. Seems strange that you would put that much money into a car and not go to the proper lengths to protect it. Obviously this is horrible but I'm asking more out of curiousity since that info wasn't in the article...

I heard about this about a week ago. Her's wasn't the only stolen car to make headlines. A Formula D drift car was also stolen recently, along with the truck and trailer it was towed with.

Car thieves are some of the lowest scum out there. I hate them.

The whole story is on supraforums as Jess has responded directly there, the basic gist of it is that it was parked outside her apartment as the shop/garage that it's typically kept at was full with other customer cars at the time. Was only supposed to be outside for a few days, they nabbed it in that time frame. Thieves trailered the car away so alarm would have done no good.

I'm surprised that they didn't have something like lojack in a car which they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars building, shame.

That aside, it sounds like a sequence of poor decisions, but one would like to see the vermin thieves locked away for a long time.

You take off the parts and sell them separately. I don't think they'd have success selling the car as is...

And if you read the link he posted he sounds even dumber. The bottom line is that, because we want to limit our taxes, the cops in cities like LA have to prioritize what they respond to and stolen cars is not on the top of the list no matter how much the owner loved the car.
