SSD in a PS3 - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Has anyone ever tried this swap? If so, any tips? I thought about doing this a while back and saw some videos that it works well with reducing load times.

Thanks. I did this last week and it's a definite improvement. I have the original 40GB fat PS3 and swapped in an Intel 120GB SSD. There's no delay in navigating through home screen options now. Level loading times are reduced (obviously).

Is it worth $100 though? meehhh, not sure. I might have went a little overkill as I could have gotten away with a 60 SSD ($80?) easily.

From what i read, it's not worth it. Yeah you have faster loading time, but some games are hardly noticeable with the change.
