that was a fucked up RB8 from just the first lap!!!! to those that say ALO deserved to win this championship im sorry but you're just sore losers and full of yourselves!!!! VET has won 5 GPs this season vs ALO's 3. Sure the Ferrari wasn't the best chassis but the VET's RB8 had two DNFs this season because alternator failure! Twice he started from the back and roared back to close the gap to ALO. VET 3x WDC that's just and ask any of those F1 drivers, they all wants to win and race in the best chassis, who the hell wants the slow unreliable car?

If Alonso did win, will be more remarkable which he took a poor car where it shouldn't be, on the second of WDC. Just giving credit where its due. F2012 is slow but reliable, and RB8 is getting faster and faster but unreliable. I think you go the reliability mixed up here. Also, just to point out, drivers don't get to "pick" their chassis. Perhaps Fernando would like to venture a try on the RB7/8 and see how good it is. ![]()

![]() Interestingly, remember German 2010, Massa gave way to Alonso. And in 2012, Massa had to break the seal on his gear box to give way to Alonso. Oh my...thing that you have to do when you don't have the fastest car.

I've personally had enough about Alonso's car being sooo poor. It was the most reliable car on the grid w/o even ONE reliability issue all year. He got beat as a driver, with trade-offs on the cars themselves. It's almost as bad as the Alonso fan-boi's saying Vettel was sooo lucky (with a 4th best driver nod). BS! You could use the luck cop-out anywhere for any driver under any circumstance. Take it with a hint of class and admit defeat by a better driver/team. I didn't see FA come from the back of the pack to front/podium ONCE this year. What I did see was SV with alternator issues and a win handed to Fernando on a silver platter. The stats don't lie and Vettel deserves every bit of praise for his skills.
Great pics as always Slam, many thx

My feeling is the championship in the making, you have the right equipment, right team, right circumstances, and make sure you maximize it to the most and make sure you don't set a foot wrong. And hope no mechanical failure this season.
Which we saw a lot from Red Bull and McLaren. There's no simple argument that you put a dummy in a RB8 and he will win WDC. Otherwise Webbo would've won it already. I think what make the difference this season was the will to win. What Alonso did was like "ok...i got 15 points, good...let's not take the risk" (nor he has the car to match the final pace). And his qualifying never really got him in trouble and always in Q3 somewhere, take minimal risk and gain a few positions then settle for the checker flag. What vettel shines this year was the will to win. Several times he cocked up a bit here and there. Also by reliability problem. You never hear vettel or his engineer saying, "that's good enough" until last lap in Brazil. If he is in P3, he wants to be in P2 or more. Pushing himself or the team to get creative and make it happen. I think that sets the difference in race approach this season. Perhaps Alonso already lost out when he and ferrari never push that hard to win again after the German GP.

To all the Vettel fan boys - yes, he's one of the best drivers out there, but the real hero of the last few seasons isn't him it's Adrian Newey. Put Newey on Ferrari and it's Alonso who keeps winning. Put him on McClaren and it's Hamilton (or Button). Red Bull could replace Vettel and still win. They could not replace Newey.

Interesting stat, Alonso has missed out on being a 5x WDC by 8 points (counting 2008, 2010, and 2012).
The fact that Alonso got that dog of a Ferrari within three points of the championship is amazing. As far as pure driving talent, I would argue he's the best on the grid at the moment. If it weren't for him getting taken out in Spa and Japan he'd be champion right now, but what's done is done. Here's to 2013 ![]()

Suprised no one else is talking about this: WTF was Webber thinking? I understand he doesn't like being considered the #2 driver at RBR, but actually racing his teammate when everything was on the line for him was just ridiculous. Can't help but admit I've lost a lot of respect for that guy. Anyone else feel the same?
Not saying he has to be what Massa is to Alonso, but on the last race of the year? C'mon man
