You do not want the government trying to fix the economy when they do we end up with what we have. If we can get Wall Street from tearing companies apart by making them doing dumb things then our economy will grow. Companies cut jobs and other things just to get their balance sheet to look like what Walls Street thinks is important.

Do not believe me, look at Apple and what Wall Street is doing to their stock just because they feel Apple is not meeting some stupid metric they deem important. However, Apple continues to put more money than any other company into the bank. Wall street is driving the stock down to punish them in spite of them making products people want to buy.

Keeping the government and Walls Street out of the pants of companies then good company will survive and bad one will die. Verses Wall street killing the good ones and the government saving the bad one.

GDP was -8.9 when he took office and is now +2. Dow is up over 80%. Unemployment (a VERY lagging indicator) is down 22%. The normal rate of unemployment is roughly 6% and we are currently at 7.9%, down from 10% in 2009. The number will never be 0%. The jobs are not all back, but they have recovered significantly.

The unemployment figure is biased because it does not include those who have dropped out of the work force. The real unemployment rate is probably closer to 10%.

Statistics are very nice, so is the BS the media tell you but reality is far different. Go talk to a student currently in college or one that has been out in the past 4 years.

It is always difficult for graduating college students to find employment but the facts remain the same. Facts are the same things that are thrown around by the candidates and it's all I really have to work with. The bottom line is that ADP, the largest paycheck company, has stated that the number of employed people is increasing. Take from that what you may but it tells the story.

Ask the student with 4 yr degrees and do not have a job what their degrees are in. You would be amazed what students and parents are willing to pay top dollars for. These people deserve not to work, they got degree in things that companies do not hire people for knowing 4 more years of learning.

I have been saying this for a long time and I told my son this, If the degree does not show up in a job description he is not going to study it. School should not be allow to offer a degree unless lots of companies require that skill. I told my son he is either going to get a business degree or engineer, those degrees will get you a job. Lots of Jobs require either of these backgrounds.

I got a friend who is allowing one kid to get an English degree and his other kid a Spanish degree, and now he is wondering what kind of jobs they will get. Those two will be part of the 50% who can not find a job. If they do find something it will not pay well and it will not require what they learned in the 4 yr degree.

It is not the government's or anyone in government fault we have idiots choosing degrees that no one will hire them to do for them full time.

Congrats to the Pres on re-election. Not my vote but he's the man for the 4 years nonetheless.

He won with less of a vote from 2008, but won nonetheless over an evenly divided country. The House is still in the Republican's hands so I'm not sure what exactly will get accomplished in the next 4 years of significant merit.

I will say this - he absolute-damn-lutely can not blame Bush for the state of the economy from 2012 to 2016. He owns it good or bad.
