See and Hear GruppeM Intake on video
VIDEO link: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/197160...2006_bmw_330i/
Dyno test and GruppeM Intake were purchased at: Technik Engineering 13428 Beach Ave Marina Del Rey, CA 90292 contact: Mike @ 310.306.4060 I had a baseline dyno test done today to account for rear tire diameter changes (slight increase), and to factor out ambient temperature differences from the first dyno test outcome. This time, baseline max wheel HP = 210.37 After intake mod., max wheel HP = 215.87 (+5.5) At slightly above 6500 rpm, the before and after mod difference was 8.5 wHP. In fact, HP and torque increased across practically all rpm ranges. At around 2850 rpm, the torque improvement was around 9-10 ft-lbs at the wheel. Differences at the flywheel would certainly be greater. I hate to admit this, but I was running on near 11,000 miles worth of dirty oil. After today, it's even dirtier. I can't help but wonder how better lubrication may have helped. Last edited by ksfrogman; 08-01-2006 at 12:00 PM.. |

Another informative post Frogster! I removed my intake because the noise was getting annoying. My car feels better with the stock intake lol. The Group M intake resembles the OEM intake just with Carbon fiber box and a better High/flow filter. How many dyno runs did you guys do with the intake and without? I am assuming is was multiple on both and you took the lowest stock numbers/ highest intake numbers.

Hi Ryan,
I had 3 dyno runs before and 3 runs after install. We used the best of 3 on each so the comparison would not be skewed. I've been watching my gas mileage go from 22 to 21 to 20 to 19 and now 18.9. I suspect my oil has lost some of its viscosity, but I'm going to change it tonight and see what happens. So unlike me to go this long without an oil change, but I've been too busy posting on this forum. |

The car does seem to go quicker and more easily with only slight throttle pressure than it did before. I talked to Mike at Technik about my butt dyno given the dyno results, and he didn't think I was imagining the difference. |
