Contrary to most published specs, it'll hold 11 in the mag +1 in the hole. Federal hydrashock 165gr load.

Little sucker has some kick! Hydrashock 165gr as well. I did the extended mags, 12+1.

Be careful with this. My USP mags where I stacked +1 over capacity tend to fail on the range. I've since replaced the weapon as a carry with the Glock 21SF - thus ridding myself of the HK spring issue. My Glock 33, which kicks like a mule, has had +2 extensions for 10 years and still functions without any issue like the first day I got it. I've never had to replace a mag spring in a Glock - I have on every mag I possess with the HK and a firing pin spring.

Not saying they will fail... Just saying of the HK's I've been around (we issue them to everyone) their springs, to include firing pin springs, fail at a rate I've never before encountered. FYI

Yeah, I've been doing some "field research" on this. So far no issues, but I haven't left a mag loaded to 11 for any time over 2 weeks. For normal carry it's 10+1. Def want it to fire when the trigger is pulled.

Go figure my 27 failed on the range last week. 300 rounds through it over the last 2 weeks, and the outer spring on the guide rod slipped the retainer. Looking to replace it with a wolff possibly. Waiting to hear back from Glock.

Good info on the springs, we haven't had a problem, but time will tell. I'll be sure to keep an eye on these. Are you issuing the HK or the USP? My accuracy with the HK45 is unrivaled by anything else I've tried, and I've shot a bunch of models.

Yes - what would you like to know?

5.7 x 28 is a very effective round.

No it isn't. It is a .22 caliber bullet weighing in at 40 grains (civilian version) and has a muzzle velocity out of the FiveSeven pistol of 1650 FPS. That gives you a muzzle energy figure of 242 ft-lbs. That puts it between the .380 ACP and 9x19mm.

Due to the high muzzle velocity, it does have a good initial hydrostatic shock, but penetration is usually pretty weak (below 9".)

It has a 20 round magazine because, well, you are going to need all 20 rounds to stop someone!

It's designed as a mid-range weapon, to penetrate barriers such as vehicles and soft walls.

For personal defense, it might be too fast of a round for up close and personal situations, but if it's a SHTF weapon, might not be too bad as it could serve double duty.
