You appear to have more discretionary time then I have.

Thinking of selling my Ruger SR40, and picking up a Taurus model 608 .357 magnum. Since I have a smaller compact 9mm for carrying and shot gun for home defense, I only use the SR40 for fun at the range and I really think this one would be more fun. Any one here have any experience with this revolver? If so, pros/cons?

I prefer S&W wheel guns, I want a 686, .357mag

I have .44mag a 500mag and a .38. Smiths have a very nice trigger.

I do have exp with this gun. Its really long. It shoots through schools! Seriously, it's a great gun, accurate and fun to shoot. Just dont try to wear it anywhere.

My brother has a 686 and loves it. I just picked up a new toy on Wednesday. Took it out the the range last night and it was flawless. Sig sauer p238.

That is in comparison to my G19.

Inconsistent but mostly better than before (I think). In the back of my head, I hear someone yelling 'Slow down!' at the range now. If nothing else, I'm more aware of what I'd doing wrong as soon as I do it.

Here's some of my targets from last week w/ the CZ. Most of the low shots in the 2nd target are from the same magazine while rushing (range time was up) & shooting w/ clammy hands. Today, not such a good day. Some small groupings but no larger ones like last week. Pretty much shot the CZ today and was jerking the trigger a bit all day. Perhaps my ego was bruised from the girl in the position to my left. She hit bullseye more than I did w/ her dad's wheel guns. In my defense, though, they were smaller caliber and she was built like a linebacker.

I had 30 rounds of 45 left in a box of WWB from a while back so I finished them off just before leaving the range today. A couple low shots since I was rushing because I was over my time, but I did get a nice group just a hair right and low of center. Btw, got some casings for you if you want. Mostly 9 but some 45 as well.

So I went to the zoo today and instead of the 125 gr. self defense loads I use in my S&W .357 snubby I loaded 158 gr. soft points you know in case an animal got loose.

Those are some pretty decent targets. Rushing always widens groupings, and knowing what your issues are is the first step in improving. You have all the abilities you need to shoot well. Slow, methodical and accurate will build speed over time. Not anticipating recoil and trigger control are the two main factors as you know! SLOW DOWN!

And, in your defense, wheel guns are way more accurate and generally easier to shoot, regardless if you are shaped like a troll or not Yeah, save your brass! I'll grab it the next time we shoot. Thanks!

LOL- almost defeats the purpose of the pistol form-factor. Might as well get a pistol-caliber carbine.

^I went to the gun shop today to check it out and you were right, I was not disappointed at all.

Gun feels great in my hands and has a nice solid feel to it for being a polymer gun.

blarg...time to order a new recoil guide assembly for the Buckmark. Strong arming it to remove it didn't work in my favor.
