Damnit, you guys are killing me with all these 1911 purchases.

I still have several more months to go before I receive my pistol permit and the wait is unbearable.

dang. your photography skills make it look even better.

4" xd9 for $430 is a steal. i was looking at them couple of weeks ago and the cheapest i could find was $469.

here is one for $420, but you will end up paying for FFL transfer, so its cheaper to buy local.

Oh great.... Another round on insanity based on an assumption that criminals are not smart enough to spend 10 minutes to circumvent it.

That sir, is one fine pistol!

Have to start saving for TFO sights, and a ported barrel. I want to see what this thing will do accuracy wise with the recoil tamed down a bit. Getting the sights first, since they're the most important, no telling when I'll spring for the barrel.

Collin, spend your money on ammunition and practice before you trick out your gun! You will appreciate the upgrades more and be better able to make use of them after you have several thousand rounds through it!

I mean upgrade however you want, but your gun should be able to shoot same hole groups as it sits right now. Its like anything else. Upgrades are fun, but practice is the key!

I wish man. The last couple days the range was already closed by the time I was out of the office.

What kind of mags did you buy?

Thanks Mike! The only thing I'm changing out on this pistol out of the box is the FLGR. I'm replacing the FLGR (which requires a tool for take down, as you know) with an Ed Brown GI-style recoil spring guide and stainless recoil spring plug.

Take down will be much simpler. Plus, I don't know that there are really any advantages of having a FLGR.

I'm not sure if you were addressing me or Collins with this post, but Mike was responding to Collins' comment about putting a ported barrel in his XD.

If that is who you were addressing, I apologize!

Florida , how I love your gun laws.
I can walk into a store , buy a gun and walk out with it.

I'd go nuts if I had to wait if I lived in California or ny.

My girlfriend got her ccw in the mail in less than 2 weeks.

Did the same thing in Tennessee. Took all of 10 minutes.
