Very good choice on the 1911.

What kind of optic is that on the AR? And is that a folding vert. grip?

Update regarding my quest for a new 1911:
Ordered this and should have it sometime next week. I lucked out in finding one. I was quoted a 6-8 month wait from all the local shops. Will post actual pics of my blaster when it arrives. Let the waiting begin. Thanks to you and Solefald for all the help!

^ Nice pick up, sir.
I think I may be beginning to get why so many people have collections... Originally, I chose the CZ over this when I made my other recent purchase and figured I'd pick this up given some time. Perhaps a bit premature for me, but I came across a deal I simply could not pass up so I snatched this up while it lasted. Ergo on this is uber-excellent for me. I currently have the medium-sized backstrap on; the small backstrap was originally installed. I'll probably swap it out again, though, just for fit testing since I don't recall which sized backstrap was on the one I previously rented.![]() Thanks, Mike (re: range bag). Maxpedition has some good stuff. I have several of their bags/backpacks and countless pouches/accessories. Great stuff for when I'm TDY. Their product definitely holds up better out on flight line and harsh terrain than my previous carries. BTW, if you don't mind me asking, where do you instruct? I'm currently checking around for training courses so I figured I'd ask.

ybbiz34, excellent choice!
Speaking of which, is anyone interested in 1 month old Remington R1 Enhanced? I was offered a ridiculous deal on Springfield loaded and simply unable to pass it on, but I can't afford having 2 1911's at the moment. It is in mint condition, with only minor wear after 500-600 rounds. It had only been to a range 4 times and always cleaned and oiled after every time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Even though I'm not a huge XD fan, I must admit that the XDM pistols are really starting to grow on me! Thank you sir! Again, appreciate all your input. After I get it and tear it down I'll be back in touch with you to see if there are any internal/external modifications that you would recommend as being worthwhile. That R1 Enhanced is a beauty. FWIW, there are great Classifieds sections on INGO (ingunowners.com/forums) and M4carbine.net. However, with INGO, 50 posts are required before putting up a pistol for sale. I've sold two lightly used pistols on INGO for nearly what I purchased them for. Good luck with the sale. Thanks Mike. That's great to know. It speaks volumes that a professional in your position carries and relies on that pistol on a daily basis.

Thanks. I plan on picking up another .40 H&K pistol, bolt action larger caliber rifle and a .22 rifle and or pistol for plinking on the cheap.

Good to know it does the job at the range. Some of the best purchases I've ever made in terms of accessories for my rifles would be my Aimpoint T-1 Micros. Light, unbelievably sturdy and robust, and very easy to use. They are pricey but if you use your AR a lot I'd highly recommend checking one out. The Aimpoint PRO is nice too. Eotech is starting to step up their game with the XPS line, too.

argh. gunbroker site is fucking retarded.
last week they charged me $1 to verify my email. today i tried to put my R1 for sale, and it asked for $2 and claimed that the card they have on file is no longer valid, even though the card is valid, as it worked in starbucks not even 10 minutes ago. tried to enter new card and it tells me: "Your credit card did process, but it has not been set as a valid payment method on file due to security checks. Please make sure all the information given is correct and try again." Mind you, this is the same card they charged just fine last week. Tried couple more times. Same message. Tried another card. Same message. Tried one more card and got flagged for Fraud and now my account is disabled. And of course, there is no phone number I can call. fuck!

Put 50 through mine today, this is about 15 rounds from 30+ yards--sans the two in the head. Put those two in from about 5-6 yards, only missed the target a couple times from 30 yards.
![]() P.S. I wasn't shooting 30 yards the whole time, just at the end to see what I could do.

Also, I wanted to let a friend get a couple rounds, so I loaded two. Kept getting the round hung up when trying to load it. Am I supposed to only load the entire mag?

What I think you are trying to describe is a failure-to-feed. If I am understanding you correctly, the tip of the round is getting hung up on the feed ramp, thus preventing the round from chambering and preventing slide to return forward into battery? A weak magazine spring could be the culprit here. The gun is used, correct? The magazine springs in XDs are one of the issues I mentioned earlier (regarding why I tend to stay away from them). Did the issue happen with both magazines or only one?

A much cheaper alternative to ordering a new magazine, if that indeed is the culprit, is simply ordering a new spring and then installing it. Did the issue happen only with the one particular magazine? If not, the problem could lie elsewhere.

Is this a new gun? When was the last time it was cleaned and lubed? Extractor, weak magazine spring, dirty gun, dirty mag or a deformed magazine wall will cause that. Make sure the gun is unloaded and take pictures of where they were getting stuck. If you have snap caps (plastic cartridges with a spring inside) you can simulate the failure and see if it does the same thing while you are racking the slide.
