Hmm. Are you sure it doesn't have to do with barrel length instead, and perhaps little weight in the front end of the frame?

Rifling creates more of a torque than a flip. Hence slant brakes on AKs and off-sized ports on compensators.

Yes. A few posts I back I said torque, and glocks have a unique way of recoiling. I am certain that it is a combination of weight and overall design, but I doubt barrel length has much to do with it other than the obvious physics of the thing.

Despite searching the Glock forum, I can't find any discussions about the topic, but I didn't spend a ton of time on it. All you need to do is fire a Glock back to back with any other hand gun and the differences are readily apparent.

If barrel length and weight were significant factors, my three inch 1911 would fire the same way, and it doesn't.

Apples and oranges. Glocks don't recoil the same as 1911s period. A 3" 1911 will flip more than a 5", same load, same barrel (both Bull or bushing).
You'll see the same with Glocks. A shorter one will have more muzzle flip than a longer one.
Just using science, not Glock forum hearsay.

A gun doesn't flip more because of special rifling. I'm not buying it.

Thanks for helping me out with the sale......

I have a cheap mag and when that one is in there i'll run into a few failures to feed. The factory mag is good. Seems like the springs are week in cheap mag.

You don't have to buy it. And essentially you've said the same thing as me except that you seem to need to be disagreeable. The fact is that a Glock twists way more in your hand than any other comparable firearm.

I know this has been discussed at length and I was looking for some discussion to help support my position, but I was speaking from the experience of 10k plus rounds fired from both Glocks and 1911s, not relying on what you call forum hearsay. Which, by the way is all this conversation is

No problem! I really love that gun. Monkey wrench's is slick too. I really wish I still had mine.

I have the exact same shotgun. "Stand-off barrel" You could use it as a meat tenderizer!

Since the family portoriat is so popular......

I chose to go with the floor background, seems like the standard choice.

Which ever one you shoot the best, like to look at the most, or that meets specific needs. Each one has different characteristics and both do an admirable job, but it is truly preference. Do you need high capacity? Do you prefer steel over polymer? What trigger preferences do you have? Do you want a gun for competition? The questions and answers are endless, so it comes down to need, functionality and aesthetics in the end.

Shoot both if you can, and see which one talks to you

In my experience, the question is not 'which one' it is 'which one first'
