I currently carry a 4" Springfield Arms XD .45 but seriously looking at the Glock 21 SF.

I can buy as many as I want in 30 days. :-)

The Desert Eagle is a beast of a gun but completely impractical.

The Desert Eagle is gas operated, the recoil is not as bad as, say, a .500 magnum or .454.

If the DE was cam operated the recoil springs would be so stiff nobody could rack the slide.

I shot a .50 cal handgun (revolver) - holy crap I'll never do that again, the recoil is something else. Honestly, went through a box of .50 (which was only 10 bullets btw) and I honestly didn't think I could pull the trigger the 11th time my wrist was aching so bad. I honestly felt like the 11th shot would have taken my wrist clean off.

But I'm still smiling cause it was an experience and I'm glad I did it. I suspect the recoil would be kinder in a semi-auto. If any of you are looking for some serious recoil though - try the revolver.

Currently:

HK USP .40s&w - Issued
Glock 33 .357sig - Primary backup and CCW
Glock 23 Gen 2 .40s&w
Glock 17 Gen 1 9mm
Kahr PM9 9mm - Summer CCW and occasional backup

Bushmaster M4 5.56mm - Issued
(w/ Aimpoint Comp-M, GG&G rear flip, and Surefire M500A)
HK MP5 K 9mm - Issued
(as I'm the only guy on the team who likes to shoot it - they all have the A2 or the SD2 variant)
2x Remington 870 12ga Police
(1x 18" matte, 1x 20" blued)

I'm trying to get the new HK45 to T&E. As we issue HK, I think we'll get some in the next few weeks. I'm torn between it and the Glock 21 SF as my next purchase. Being unthrilled with the USP, I'm leaning toward Glock again. Fired the 21 SF last week at the range and love it. Fired the G37 the week before that and was impressed, as well.

Not much a little something. Carry a .40 glock on transport. And .22 in the small of my back everywhere I go.

+1

i go shooting every time i'm in texas. i loved the px4 when i had a chance to shoot with it. it fit in my hands pretty well and i had a nice grouping on target.

the next gun i want to try is the HK USP.
