Dude, I just made the best discovery...

You can get the old-school fried style Apple Pies from the McDonalds in Walmarts.

it's only at some walmarts.

the walmart by my work has the baked ones.

i used to always get them at the mcky d's inside san jose airport when i had a trip (one of the last places that still had the fried apple pies). too bad they shut them down and put in a burger king.

I have a friend who used to work at McDicks and he would give our family tons of these fried style apple pies for free. They don't keep 'em for a long time, so McDick's gives 'em out to employees for free.

oh snap...that is a great find. The old school ones definitely trump the crappy new ones.
Although, Popeyes makes a ridiculous pie very similar to the old school MickeyD's but with brown sugar.
