Installing Windows XP over Windows 7

Hey guys, I have a Windows 7 OS netbook which I really hate.
I tried to uninstall and format the hard drive but the system won't let me.
I also tried installing Windows XP via cd-drive but the system is not allowing me.
Is there an easier way to delete Windows 7 and install Windows XP?

1. Why
2. What do you mean not letting you?
3. Did you boot via cd? or are you trying to install via os?

I tried both and neither is working.
An error pops up saying the latest OS version is installed and it can't be downgraded

going to xp on a netbook is suicide. I strongly disagree with it. XP resource management is shit compared to win7 and the netbook doesnt have much to begin with.

Just change the boot order to your cd drive through the bios.

I also agree. Win7 starter should be your old OS and XP does not have the power or system management that Win7 has. Starter was designed for Netbooks.
