Faulty vibration absorber in rear axle drive - safe to drive?

The vibration absorber in the real axle drive (please see #6 in the attached image) is loose on my 3-series (F3x).

It's still there of course but around 60 mph / 100 km/h there is definately more vibrations, though is was due to unbalanced wheels but that's not the case.
Sometimes there also is a smell of burnt rubber.

However, I've ordered a new vibration absorber (part # 33316798890) but you know how these issues normally appear, you're heading for a long trip over the easter holiday and the spare part will not be availble befor you leave...

What's you opinion, is it still safe to drive? I can bear with some vibrations but don't wanna risk the drivetrain.

Happy easter!

Why not just tighten it down? You can drive the car if the vibration/rattling doesn't bother you..
It's a piece of metal, you'll get the exact thing you have now...
