Anyone ever have a sty on their eyelid?

If so, what did you do about it? I am considering cutting it open with my very sharp pocket knife... It really bothers me and sometimes it hurts/itches.

I mean thats pretty nasty dude. I had one when i was little. Went to a doctor where they used sterile equipment to cut it and release the stuff inside. slightly better then doing it yourself i think.

Hot compress on the sty. Hot meaning as hot as you can withstand. Go see the doctor and get some antibiotics for the eye.

If it gets to the point where a pimple forms, you can pop it with a sterile needle to release the fluid, but I wouldn't slice the eye yourself.

I can sterilize my knife pretty easily, so if it saves me a trip to the doc, why not? It is pretty nasty though. That's why I want it gone.

because cutting yourself in -near- your eye really isnt as easy as youre making it sound. jjust get a doctor to do it, i dont see why thats a big deal.

I've been dealing with it for about a year. Tried all the hot compress stuff, and it got bigger. So I like your needle idea. Might try that.

Don't put sharp objects in your own EYE! Let a professional handle this one. Really.

LMAO! I can move it so it is away from my eye, sort of up on my eyebrow. It's not really a big deal, I just think it would be interesting, if not fun to do it myself.

Too late. I already did it. Worked just fine! I didn't stab myself in the eye and it didn't even really hurt. It was however, really gross.

It was pretty easy. Pulled it up to my eyebrow with one hand, used a new Spyderco knife that is scalpel sharp in the other. I little poke/slice and that was it. No blood at all. Just sty stuff. After, an alcohol swab and voila! Problem solved. Unless I get Gangrene and lose my eye.

easy way is to bring your opposite arm around the back of your head and pull the skin as if making asian eyes. Little by little in addition to the hot compress it should go away.
