Why are Iphones still going for well over retail on ebay? When you can pick them up at any apple store or AT&T store?

I wouldn't. Many could be fake accounts making it seem like there is a market. Not to mention they could be people from Nigeria etc. I really do not see a high chance of you making a legit sale where you make profit. Even if you do it wont be a lot of profit.

Ya I bought 2 in NYC right after release and tried to sell them on ebay...got scammed 5 times!

eBay reported as part of their earnings report that had a "large" drop in eBay listings. They did not specify "large" but since it was materially significant and they needed to report it, I would say a whole bunch.

And given the scams from both buyers and sellers, I am not surprised
