I agree ...To be really effective, I think they need to impose a punishment that hits our heart like a dagger. Like for example, how about taking a BBS wheel or a Brembo brake off you car every time you are caught speeding?

Then I am pretty sure that every person that drives will have only a piece of screw left on their car.

This is peanuts compared to what the fine is here.
Compare that at a $3000 fine and mandatory court appearance at when they will determine if jail time is in order...

This will be the first state to remove the gray area. Normally there is only a fine for 5-10. This is due to the calibration argument that every good ticket lawyer uses in court. California is desperate and they are willing to stand fast and fight hard for their $200+ in fines and court fees, even if its for 1 or 2 mph over the speed limit.

One of my top 5 songs ever. Favorite line:

"Nah, I ain't pass the bar but i know a little bit - enough that you won't illegally search my shit."

/agree ... getting into an accident with someone that doesn't have insurance is an incredible PITA... I deal with it from time to time when some idiot in a white van, doing god knows what, runs a light and barrels into one of my trucks.
