Will a Mac work?

It is time to get a laptop and I am considering a MacBook Air 13". I want to be able to interact with my BMW tool and maybe a jb4 down the line. I guess they may work with a windows emulator. Would they work and If so do I need to buy a version of windows for $199? Are ther any reasons to not go Apple? I have and iPad and might get the new iPhone down the line. I am nervous about windows 8 after getting burned by Vista in the past. Am I wrong or do you guys have any advice. I like ssd and how quick they operate but I mostly web brows do some microsft office applications and some amiture photo and video editing. thanks

Yes, that's exactly what I have on my macbook. Partition your SSD with 30+ GB for Windows using bootcamp, then format it to NTFS using the Win installer.

Then install the Bootcamp program once you've got windows running and it'll automatically install all the hardware drivers and you're set.

The tools work under the common windoze runtimes such as Parallels or VMware.
If you are technical, you can get TIS running under Wine (see my post on this) with no windows license or code required. It works FINE on a mac. Google up WineSkin if you want to run windows games naitively in OSX. Haters gonna hate... macs gonna run.

I did the same thing but instead of stealing 30+GB from the SSD, I installed Windows 7 on a USB 3.0 flashdrive. I also have an iMac so it lets me have windows on which ever machine i may need it on

I have two Macbooks, a 15" Aluminum Core2Duo, and the new 13" i7 Macbook Pro.

Both of them run windows naively. I can boot to Windows straight up using Bootcamp, or boot to Mac and virtualize my Windows installation. I use windows exclusively on these laptops and maybe use MacOSX two or three times a year when I'm doing iPhone stuff (apple products like macs more )

You have a lot of options with this and the Mac will work just fine. They are all Intel based so it's basically the same thing as a PC.

I think this might be my first OT post, I guess I don't feel like working ..
