E90 Option Decisions
I'm looking at getting a '06 325i, and wondering if the Nav. and Sport Pk's are worth it? My car now has Sport and I love the seats. Prefer the way the wheels look in Sport Pkg, but again there is the non-rotation of the tires issue.
An with the Nav. is it really worth it? does it make using the radio and stuff more complicated cause of the I-Drive? Anyone who has either or both, give me some feedback, would love to hear all about it. Thanks |

Yea I def am getting the Xenons, but am wondering if the I-drive is more of a hinderence than a benefit...
The cost diff is not too much when u price them both ways (financing) but really am just wondering if im going to use the Nav. all that much... |

With all those options......it adds up to a 330i price range. Get the 330i imo.

Most people won't get the I-Drive(Nav) but I HAVE to have navigation simply because I drive everywhere and HATE figuring out roads and getting lost. From what I've read here, no one has complained about getting I-Drive, though it takes a while to master. And BTW, you can manually control the radio WITHOUT the I-Drive in the E90.

i do NOT think it takes very long to "master" the idrive. the day i got the car i sat in there for 20 minutes clicking on menus and sub menus. after that it took me a whole nother day to feel like i really knew how to use it. now i feel pretty confident there isnt too much i dont know about the idrive, and i have had the car less then 2 weeks. i wont use the navi too much for what its supposed to be used for, but i think the fact that it give you the totally different dash and basically different center console, its worth the price. im very happy with it.

RED, how's the NAV compared to other systems? I used the system on the Hertz cars and found it not up to date. Also, points of interest were missing and lists were not that comprehensive.

The sport package was a must for me. I didn't get nav because I don't need to deal with all of that confusing crap. I think I'd be able to find my way somewhere easier on my own rather than fumble with that junk, lol. Yahoo Maps or Mapquest are good sites.

Now, if you get the xi models, the sports package is all sorts of different. there are 2 options for sports, regular and the more expensive sports package. The regular just comes with the sports seats, not the suspension, not the sport rims/tires. THe more expensive one comes with seats, tires, but still no suspension. I'm rather upset about this but i guess what are you going to do. I mean honestly i dont plan on racing ....

Well guess it all comes down to what kinda deal I get, and how much I can get for my trade. |

Get what you want within your budget. Options are optional because what one person can't live without another couldn't care less about. I would like to have one or two things that I don't, but didn't feel it was worth the $ for me. The only thing I really wish I had was the shade package - but that was just my impatience... I didn't want to wait for it.
