Jared's had the Tag Carrera listed for $2700 and the sales guy reassured me that their prices are the best amongst their comptators and he wouldn't budge, he also went on tell me that they've sold 7 Carreras over the weekend. I doubt they will go down to the $2000 region.

By the looks of it the small mom & pop shops are more flexable on pricing then the larger chains.
Remember that the USD will probably cost you 1.25 CAD and factor that into your decision. The price from Jared's would be far more than what you'd pay in Canada after the conversion.

As to the original question, I'd choose #3. I wear a TAG Monaco and love it.

What are you yammering about? How would you get a string caught around the buttons??

I bought my Omega Planet Ocean chrono from Topper jewelers over the phone. Retail was $5800, I paid $4500 shipped overnight to my door. No tax. Awesome buying experience.

Well I was able to find a good watch over the weekend and got a pretty good deal on it too.

It's last year's Maurice Lacroix Pontos Chronographe PT7548-SS001-130. As far as I know last years' model has the same movement but slightly different styling.

When I was looking at the online pics I was leaning towards the black dials, but in person the silver dials with leather straps were my favs.

Retail price was $2495.00, I paid $1750 which is 30% less, and I didn't have to pay tax.

The best price I got on a Carrera was 25% off but had to pay tax which would have cost me ~$2600, about $850 more then the ML. In my opinion the ML is nicer and little dressier. With that being said, I think my next watch will probably be the Grand Carrera!!:excited:

BTW, I ran across a couple of ML dealers that were clearing their inventory because ML recently jacked up their pricess from the $1,000-$3,000 range to the $3,000-$10,000 range.

For Comparison, this is the current Pontos:

Thanks to all of you that help out with my decision making, much appreciated!!

I have number 3 in a silver dial. I choose number 3. As far as time keeping its been great for an automatic, actually keeps better time than my rolex 50th ann. submariner
