Sometimes I feel a bit tempted by...

... something like this:

I know it is an older car but I find it just stunning and would love to have it in my driveway some day. Just curious, how you guys think this compares to the E9X performance wise

That's all you'll be doing when it breaks down.

There is a certain threshold of usable daily performance. This car, as well as the M3 are arguably over that threshold. After that point, whether it's faster or slower doesn't really matter quite so much as the enjoyment of the car overall.

I'd be willing to bet very few people that buy any Aston Martins ever track them anyways; so whatever speed it has, as long as it is fun, is enough. Not to mention the exhaust note is great.

The biggest drawback is the maintenance costs, though I can't really speak towards reliability.

Agreed. I have yet to pull my balls out of my purse and track my E90, but I fully intend to do it. It's been 8 months since I got it but I don't get to drive it as often as I would like. We're still getting to know each other.

I find my M to be just about the perfect car but being a car fanatic I can't keep myself from looking at what else is out there. You know... just because you found the perfect girl and got married doesn't mean you're going to stop looking at other girls as they walk by... (getting off topic here)
