Just bought a '12 300 SRT8

So I originally could not picture myself in this car if you had asked me a few years ago if I was interested, but the style has made some subtle changes and probably I have too.

I have to admit (and this will probably send Litos over the edge into bliss), having a 6.4L Hemi at my disposal is pretty fricking fun. And the acceleration on this thing is a beast, especially considering its a 4300 lb car. I'm slowly starting to become a convert to American muscle.

So far I'm impressed, though I just picked it up...we'll see how reliable it is, though I hadn't read anything bad when I was doing my research. Got all the bells and whistles, heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, GPS, radar assisted cruise control, double sunroof, RWD. Only downside is they don't make them with manual transmission.

I think my bank is going to take a hit though with the fuel costs...I'm using it to commute about 160 kms per day.

Damn dude, I commute 20 miles total and my R/T sucks $80 in gas a week.

Nope - but in fairness I did put "300" in the title to signal it was not the Jeep but the car.

Jeep is pretty wicked, especially with AWD, but way out of my price range. This was gently used and bought for $34K.

I thought it was supposed to get about 9L / 100kms on highway...I do hope this isn't going to be way off! I literally just picked it up on Monday.

Edit: Most of my commute is highway.

As always, it depends on your right foot.

Do the SRTs have MDS? We have a GC Overland Hemi and it gets awesome mileage on the highway using 4cyl and the aero mode suspension height.

I love the look of the revised models. Did you get the full on Walter White?

This is also in the wrong section.

Nope - mine is grey, but actually I like the colour in person, the pictures on the other hand do not do it justice.

Plus from what I understand, the sound clips for BB were actually taken from a supercharged SRT8...mine sadly lacks the supercharger.

I can't remember, I'd have to go back and watch it again...in the back of my mind I'm starting to wonder if I did hear blower whine or whether everything was lost in the sound of that wicked sounding exhaust!

And yes, they do have MDS, but apparently the jury is out as to whether it makes a huge difference, but I think that's mainly for people who don't do a lot of highway commuting.

Our MDS turns on constantly and it's immediately obvious when it kicks in. We average 15.8mpg on short trips but close to 20 on longer jaunts.

300SRT is such a beast...

outside of it's AWD Jeep brother, the 300 is the best handling SRT8 in the lineup....

I've been to the last two "SRT Track Experiences" and the 300 is just so perfectly balanced for some reason.....

having 470hp and 470tq on tap is a very fun thing...

...and the fact that you get full torque so early in the power band makes tire shredding easy as slicing butter...

when travelling in my 392 Challenger, I can get 26.5mpg going @ 70mph....

but I never drive full auto in my car - I manually shift both the RT and the 392 via paddle shifters or autostick.....

nice car man, post pics or GTFO......

oh, if it's 100% stock, the very first thing you wanna do is either get the resonators deleted or just get some mufflers welded in......

if you splurge on a complete catback exhaust, please Please PLEASE get the Corsa Xtreme......

then just an intake for that little extra breathing room and a nice red strut bar

I've heard about the Corsa Extreme, its the one I want if I go down that road, but it will be probably a year before I do that. If I deleted the resonators I'm afraid of what that might do to normal driving (ie. a lot of drone?). Same with mufflers.

I've heard with the Corsa that although there is some drone, it actually improves with time (ie. about a week or two), sounds really good.

Do you have any exhaust / intake - if so, post soundclips!
