Detroit is going to be great. How can I prepare for exams? So many great cars coming:

BMW M3/M4, Lexus RC-F, Toyota Supra, Corvette Z06, Lamborghini "Cabrera" (online), probably some Honda (S3000) too, unless that is kept for TMS 2014.

I'm stoked for NAIAS this coming year, a lot of potential will be on the floor from a number of manufacturers. The previous years haven't really gotten me as thrilled, so this looks pretty promising. Should be a good show all around!

Most likely supercharged. Already have the engine pictures. There are some patents filed by GM have led some to believe that it has a certrifugal S/C mounted sideways in the valley. Crazy.

They already have some supercharged regular C7s doing some ridiculous 1/4 runs. We're talking sub-10 second cars at 125-130mph all day.

So if the Z06 falls anywhere in the territory above, it will be ... nearly unbeatable on the strip.

It'll probably have a jet engine if their current performance tragectory is maintained. Between this car and the Camaro ZL1, they've really stepped up to the plate (provided the rumors are true about the plant in the Z07).

your forgetting you are on a BMW forum. sure they have made some balls to the wall straight line cars. although the C6 vettes have always been great overall cars. people here like the whole package of good handling, decent power, and fit n finish.

i would say these last 5 years have been a step in the right direction. the mustang 5.0L have kicked some ass, specially the BOSS 302. the camaro Zl1 and GT500 are appealing. CTS Vs . i think vettes have always been good. but a lot of the european guys are starting to like the C7 more so than before. i think its because the European cars are starting to lack in the performance and focus on main stream sales more than ever.

Indeed nice to see the American cars doing good. Too bad we can't have them easily in EU and they have a rather negative image, as Japanese cars.

I'm going to take my Dad to the Detroit show- 2 things for the locals:

I assume mid week is best in regards to crowds, do you recommend any day in particular?

And does anyone have Red Wings season tickets they would like to part with if the timing works out? I have seasons for the Sabres, I would work something out if you'd like to see a game here. (yes the sabres are very poor this season, no need to take a shot at us )

Thanks.

Z06 will probably overshadow the M3/M4 debut. It is such a highly anticipated car because the previous C6 Z06 was such a monster out of the box. And with the C7 getting the reviews it is getting, it is hard to imagine a C7 on steroids. This image clearly shows the beefy ass tires the Z06 will be using. Going to have bonkers grip.

Such a shame BMW has no car that can compete against a "cheap" Corvette.

GM kick started performance cars 20 years ago when they put the 300 hp LT1 in the corvette and the 4th gen F bodies mated to a 6 speed stick. Both cars where quite capable in more than just going straight.

When I was in college, I bought a (then) 6 year old 93 Firebird Formula (the Formulas had a cleaner look without all that cheesy ground effect bs that the trans am had). The car was simple white, no t tops. For it's time it was one of the fastest cars on the street. It was a hell of an autocross car too. I took f stock one summer with it. It was also fun going to the bmw cca autocrosses, the real car guys would check it out and talk car stuff with me, while the snobs (very small group our local cca rocks) would turn their noses up and say things like "that big Camaro just can't compete" (Its a damn firebird lol).
