The body shape of the A/S/RS7 still bothers me. It looks like a platypus. I vote Merc.

^^I agree, the Panamera is one ugly car! It looks like a whale, litterally, you don't need any imagination to see it
I like the bodystyle of the audi a lot, also, it has frameless doors which are cool. Overall the RS7 is a very nice looking car! I like the Merc especially for the AMG sound, that sounds so rough! I do have to be honest that I don't really know what the RS7 sounds like but I can imagine its a bit less, no?? Also, the Audi is a bit more "out there", the Merc can seem rather boring and common, especially to people who don't know what they're seeing. But that might be something you like.. A pity you don't really like any BMW for the moment, I'd go for an M6 GC without hesitation!

No de-railing intended.
I don't care for the Panameras rear hunch. Great car but a little butt heavy in appearance . I intended to ask why you care for these two Germans but from many posts, come off against the Porsche brand in general. No worries . The Merc has pretty much all positive reviews, while the Audi is a mixed bag. That is the reason I think E63. Have not driven either so... G L |

I like both cars. I'm leaning more towards the E63 because I feel you get more car for the money. More luxury, too. I prefer the interior of the benz too. I like the looks of the RS7 more. It has a low and wide appearance. I like the hatch and all the trunk space in the RS7. I would be equally happy with either one. And as far as the M6 GC, I think its hands down the best looking BMW right now, but BMW as a whole has been off on this new crop of cars. They have strayed from the formula that made them what they are. I also think its over priced. Last edited by swanson; 12-02-2013 at 06:31 PM.. |

Definitely the E63 in wagon. The fact that the RS7 shares the same engine as the S7 makes me feel like I could spend a lot less on the S7 and after a tune get almost the same performance.

What about the M6 Gran Coupe?
I almost compare the RS7 to the CLS63 when it comes to Audi vs. Benz, not the E-class. Honestly, I can't make that decisions. On looks, they are both beautiful... just in different ways. Performance wise they are undoubtedly quick and capable. (E63 has 4-Matic, that might play into a decision for some). I would honestly need to sit in and drive both... (I've been in an RS7 and the interior is gorgeous). I don't know the numbers, but I'm almost positive the E63 is faster and more agile, especially with AWD (?) I really can't pick

Is the e63 wagon out of running? A7 looks > e63 sedan, but I'd take the e63 wagon > A7 (yeah this is an odd opinion of mine). However, the sounds from the e63 is fantastic!

I'm all for AMGs; and AUDIs, just not the A7 line. So AMG it is!

So, my brother and I went to Benz and Audi today to check out the E63 and the RS7. We hit Mercedes up first and found a black E63 with black wheels and light brown Designo interior sitting outside in front of the dealership. It looked so badass in this combo. I love it in black and I also loved the interior. Its like a baseball glove interior(my favorite). We sat inside and started her up. The interior is extremely nice. My brother has a 2012 E350, so we were very familiar with the layout, but the AMG has Nappa leather everywhere and alcantara headliner and piano black Designo trim. Luxurious everywhere. The exhaust barked to life and sounded awesome. We didnt get to test drive it as the dealer was gonna close in 15 min., but were going again next weekend to take it for a spin.
After we left Benz, we headed towards Audi. We get there but didnt see the RS7. We asked someone and they said that the one you saw online was a customer ordered car and was sold and picked up. We were bummed, but we hung out for awhile and asked some questions. We took a look at some of the S6, S7 and RS5's they had and they did look good, but I had my heart set on the RS7. We're gonna stop buy again next weekend to test drive an S7 just to get a feel for the model and how it drives. I will let everyone know how each car felt. |

As most of you know, I've been looking at a few cars and the new E63-S is one of them. I made an appointment the other day to test drive one today. I picked my brother up and we headed off. I get there and was greeted by the salesman. He said the car is not ready yet. They are detailing it because it just came in. Ok, so we hang out and BS with the salesman. 5 minutes later, a tech or the detail guy drives the car up to the front of the dealership. We head out and we're floored at how awesome this thing looks. It is a black on black S model with the night pkge and black wheels. I havent really been interested in the night pkge because I wanted a black car to begin with and didnt feel that extra black was gonna contribute to the looks. Boy was I wrong. It looked as mean and stealthy as could be. I was pleasantly surprised how good it looked. Pics DO NOT do this car justice nor the night pkge either. I took the time to really look at it all around and snap some pics. WOW.
So, we get in and the salesman goes over some stuff and then we head off. I wanted to drive it both locally and on the highway. I drove it in all the different modes and could tell a big difference between the S and S+. More snappier, responsive. Louder exhaust. The Comfort mode is more lazy, good for cruising long distance. I could also tell a big difference between the different suspension settings. From totally off and being compliant to full on stiff, but responsive. I liked the ride in all modes. The interior is really nice. Nappa leather everywhere. It had the Carbon fiber trim that looked nice. The alcantara steering wheel felt so nice. The side bolsters of the seats really hold you in, and the refreshed center console looked very nice. The power felt strong, but maybe I was expecting a little more thrust. I'm sure its because the car only had 20 miles on it. I'm not really complaining. It felt strong, but I was just expecting a little more. I'm sure with some miles on it, it will really wake up. I had it up to 90mph and it felt rock solid. The exhaust sounds awesome. I love how Mercedes factory installs a loud exhaust on their luxury performance cars. Its a big thing for me to feel connected to a car, and the exhaust note plays a big part. All in all, I loved the car. I loved the interior and I LOVED the way in looks. Here are some pics I took. Enjoy. |
