selling my 335 ....but to get what?

I love my 335 but i want a more of a sports car. My old 330 zhp felt much sportier than this car does. I am not putting the 335 down at all its a FANTASTIC CAR but i want more of a sports car.

I want to stay in the same price range around 40-45k

What cars would you get?....I was thinking E46 M3 but itll be outdated in a few months....

I went through the same thing. I'm interested in waiting for the new Z, possibly the lowest mileage E46 M3 I can get my hands on. I probably would've at least test driven the Z4M. In all honesty, I dont know how fun to drive the new M3 can be on the E9x generation frame. The E92 feels much less sporty than the E46 or the E39. It's a sad time for nearly all the cars out there, so I'm just going to mod and see how many thrills I can force out of it. But if I was sure I was going to make a move, I'd definitely give a look at the Boxster/Cayman/Z/M3/Z4M

I totally agree.....i absolutely LOVE the E46 M3 its been my dream car as long as i can remember. The e9x feels like its more of a luxury vehicle than a sporty drive. The E92 is sporty but the steering and engine feel is too smooth. Cayman is deff a nice car id have to consider. But i need a backseat cause this is my only car

i agree with the 'vette. but if you liked your previous 3er and want something similar but sportier, i don't see why you wouldn't get a lightly used E46 M3.

It's going to come down to the M3, basically. Just add some fancy coil-overs, LSD, and bigger inter-cooler with procede and exhaust on your 335i. Then you'll basically have a sports car.

I was toying around with the idea of getting both a Corvette Coupe and a Jeep Wrangler.

I ended up ordering a 335i Sedan instead.

Have you considered upgrading your suspension? In the same price/luxo range there isn't much to touch the 335...perhaps a used Boxster S.

The M3 suggestions make me laugh...M3's are not faster, only stiffer "feeling", same thing you'll get with upgraded suspension and lightweight wheels.

+1...in that price range, I don't think anything will make you happy. The e46 M3 will definitely feel sportier...but if you are after a sportier ride, perhaps you can just do some more modding on your current car. The money that you will lose if you do sell her could be spent on making your current ride sportier.

I'd say if you are going to make a change...go strong (e92 M3, Cayman S) or you will be in regretsville.

For that price range and you wanting a "sports car" only one choice stands out if you're talking a new car, the Corvette.

They are a nice looking car but all that extra weight takes away from the "sports car" feel. If he's not happy with the feel of the 335 he definitely won't be happy with the feel from a car weighing an additional 400 lbs.

If you really wanted the E46 M3, then that would be a good choice. You'll probably see some good ones for sale, particularly over the next few months. It's not necessarily faster than the E92 335, but edgier feeling (sporty).

As other mentioned, you could probably upgrade your current suspension and achieve the road feel you are looking for. As for the engine feel, you probably aren't going to get the sportier feel of a NA motor with the 335i, but can certainly make a lot more power with any of the current piggybacks available.
