Does BMW do this???

Silly thing that drives me nuts...

One of my past cars when i got to the dealer, they had drilled holes for a front plate. Now here in FL, there isn't a front plate law, and I certainly don't want holes in the car...

Does BMW drill the holes before shipment, or is it done at the dealer? I am planning on PDC...

Thanks...

dealer drills them..
I can ask them not to drill, even in States with mandatory front plates.. but prepare to pay fines...

So assuming a PDC, they won't do it?

both our MINIs in PA are not drilled for front plates - doesn't look like any of the BMW's at Otto's are either....

This is Bob - using atr_hugo's computer (since the statue of limitations aren't up) and I've not run a front plate in 8 years and have yet to get a second glance - that being said I'll prolly get about 5 frickin' tickets now. ; -)

LOL I was gonna say the same thing. Even when I've been pulled over the cops haven't ever issued me a fixit ticket. To answer the OP, out of the 4 BMWs I've owned, zero had holes drilled in the front bumper.

I have been driving in Texas for 21 years with no front plates on ANY of my cars. One of which was a red ferrari 348 spider (a very eye catching car).

NEVER gotten any kind of a ticket, citation, or fine. And all my cars always pass inspection.

My parents have owned numerous BMW's and none of them came with the holes drilled.
