Any Physics Wiz here?

Need help on 1 problem, please list some of the basic calculations for it too, thanks!

A object with mass m=1.0kg is rotating around a axis,with a constant angular speed omega=6.28rad/s.The radius of the circular motion is 2.0m.What is the: (1) tangential speed;(2)centrapital force; and (3) period?

thank you

its been a long time since ive done physics. if you check out wikipedia, you should find the formulae you need. you have all that you need to calculate the tangential speed, and im pretty sure the period as well. just plug and chug.

a)

v=tangential speed
r=radius
w=angular speed

therefore:

v=rw

b)

f=centripetal force
v=tangetial velocity
r=radius
m=mass

f=m*(v^2)/r

c)

T=1 sec

This is because the total radians in a circle is 2pi (2pi=360degrees)
Therefore, if the thing has an angular velocity of 6.28 (remember, pi=3.14 so 2pi=6.28) it will complete 6.28 radians at 6.28 radians/sec in 1 sec...

Seriously? Man use the internet before the forums.

1. V=r*omega...............you don't need any conversions here so you're set.

2. Fcentripital = m*(v^2)/r.......................once again no conversions needed

3. T=2*(pi)/omega.......................once again no conversions needed

Edit: dammit Scott you beat me!!

If you're going to be technical, then you can say he did, because we don't know when you hit reply - because the page isn't updated, so if you hit reply at 10:19 even though you opened your page at 10:17, his reply was at 10:18 and he may have very well posted his answer before you hit the reply button.

Well... he obviously want this done relativisticly using tensor calculus... I mean... why else would he post such a question? He is not a retard you know. Or is he?
