The U.S. is the Land of Displacement

I am taking a week off from my on-order obsession with a business trip to Asia. I had seen this in the past, in Europe, but it was more striking now that I have been getting ready to take delivery of my first BMW since my 2002. And it was striking after reading all the arguing on this forum around 328 vs. 335...

Anyways, what is interesting:

- the most common 5-Series by far (in Thailand, Taiwan, and China)? The 520i.

- the most common 7-Series? The 728i.

We live in the land of cheap gas and wide open space, at least compared to most of the world. Enjoy your extra cubic inches!

Id say about 80% of E90 here are 320i or 320d ( smallest currently available )

On the E46 most were 318i
On the E36 most were 316i

Most 1 Series are 118i

Most 5 Series seem to be 523i.

And the UK has 0.9 percent of the world's population but produces about 2.3 percent of all carbon dioxide emissions. What's your point?

I'd be curious to see how much leasing is done in the rest of the world. My gut says you gotta have the coyne if you want it in the garage. Yep, seems our waistlines match our consumption of everything in sight. I mean I'm 5'2", 425 lbs., with at 47" waist. Even though my salary is in the mid 20's, I got approved for the 335 lease no questions asked. It was a smile and drive deal. USA!

What does make me laugh about the USA bashing is not only is most of the stuff true, but isn't it a joke how phat our 401k's are? It just seems so easy for that thing to grow. So even though we may spend so much on our homes, our cars, our lifestyle, we've got these huge nest eggs as well. No wonder many different kinds of people would like to emigrate to the US.

Most people here get their cars financed through a Bank

Reason most here are 320i is because a 320i with no options costs as much as a 328i in the USA, which has many options as standard
