I bet they were holding back. That said, Vettel's not particularly strong on street circuits.

They use these practice sessions for testing. Red Bull has often been off the pace in practice then 1s ahead of the pack in Q3.

on F1's facebook they've got a video of Schumi losing control and hitting a wall. Is that where the fire/repaving was from teh earlier pictures???

I wouldn't read too much on red bull's pace in P1, P2 and P3 sessions. We don't know what they are testing, fuel load, their practice programs and objectives.

Schumacher locked up on the run down to Ste Devote but still tried to make the corner, and then made a late decision to try and take to the escape road but ended up sliding sideways in to the tyre wall.

The track is also very dirty. So the top teams probably aren't running near race trim until we get closer to qualy. This way the drivers have a chance to get acclimated to the close quarters of the track without risking the 1 copy of that special new part they brought with them.

FP3 we might see a bit more of some of the new external components.

Ever been up to Montreal? I went last year and am going again on the 10th. If you do, best corner on the whole track for all the events, not just F1, is corner 24.

Fisichella looks like he could play pro football. The rest....eh. Better than me for sure, but it's pretty obvious why the rest of them are in F1 instead of football
