N55 Successor with the GC release?

There was some talk last year when the 4 grand coupe was released it would usher in the successor to the N55. Which in 2015MY would filter down to the rest of the 3/4s.

The b68 is the 6 cylinder version of BMW new engine architecture which the new mini 3 cylinder engine was based on and the 2 cylinder in the I3.

Anyways, are we expecting the new engine in the March Geneva release of the 4 GC? I know its all speculation at this point...

Don't think so. The N20/N26 is largely designed engineered from the N55, it's basically a shortened version.

I don't believe it is. I read that it was more like the N55 with two cylinders chopped off.
But its a newer engine than the N55 so I think it's less likely to be updated.
I actually thought the power was too close to the N55 that they would have bumped the N55 power after it came out.

Thanks JV and Chico...

The GC is already being ordered. I think before the replacement to the
N20/26/55 comes out there will sure to be worldwide press conferences touting how the new engines are better than the old ones. Since we haven't seen that, it's likely these engines are around until the press conference/marketing spin.
