^ exactly, BMW is in the business of making but more importantly SELLING cars. I just find it ironic people don't like Z4M cars but like the M SUV's.

I can understand the mentality though, in Asia, it's go big or go home. There is no appeal of a small 2 seater but instead they think expensive cars need to be big and grand. Even more ironic is no one even cares if a M SUV has 300 or 600hp, they buy it for the badge to show their wealth to everyone.

I just find it sad that companies are forced to move from their roots as it's true, their only job is to increase sales and profit year after year.

X6M5.0DX3ish

I wondered why they are giving the X6M's away in blighty

After this model comes out RIP X6M in the UK

Seems a good idea, but as someone has already pointed out its 2.2 tons and will always remind you of it when you push on the power.

First hand experience with my X6M which I found to be utterly useless in the UK.Two weeks I have thrown in the towel and reordered an M3, and will use wifes X5 3.0D LCI when white stuff arrives.

But still different, and will overcome the really shity mpg of the X6M.

I think they may have been better losing some weight out of the X6M and replacing the gearbox with an eight speeder, now that would be fun!

The X6MTTT3.0DLI will in reality be no better than the 4.0d but the badge will be good.

But a least BMW keep trying to extend the range/interest in the X6 which I still thinks looks proper cool.

Just my opinion

This is really interesting. I wonder if this is a fully blown M model or BMW is just slapping a M badge to charge more money.

If its an INLINE-6 motor with 3 turbos and its developed by BMW M, I think all of us enthusiasts who are fearing the possibility of a V6 powered M3 for the F80 can rest assured.

If BMW M is dumping money into developing this then it makes it far more likely that the straight 6 engine will return in the next generation M3 with 3 turbos in a similar layout to these engines.

While I don't like anything about the X6, I don't mind an Msport D engine like this.

What I would really like to see is a 535d.

I always considered that is much better to have more options to choose from
M Division must extend their range of models to have more money for developing better and better products! I don t understand why are so many complaints
Other than that we have to take into consideration that all the latest models released by M Division are benchmarks in their classes

You don't take a 2.2 ton diesel suv to the track

If they ever ship the F10 version with xDrive... would be the ideal all year machine. I hate storing my car in the winter.

This is the more important upcoming car, in my opinion; the rumored M550d xDrive. Has anyone out there put these power and torque numbers through a simulator yet? I am curious on highway fuel economy, 0-60 mi/h, and 1/4 mi numbers. Based on a current 550i xDrive, assuming same weight and ZF 8 speed, I wonder what this car is capable of? You have to assume of course that the advertised 400 hp in the 4.4 L TT V8 is a lower than reality number.

High 4 s 0-60 mi/h and maybe mid-30 mi/gal highway? That would be nice.
