32E3 DME fault?

Hey guys, recently after my comfort access and amp stopped working, I have received this code: 32E3 EWS-DME Interface Hardware fault.

Any ideas on what can be done to fix this? The only thing I have done coding wise is install the PPK to my N55.

Thanks

Seems to hint at a hardware fault between CAS / DME. Check all wiring between them. Make sure there's no water ingress...

Where exactly is the CAS module located? I'm not very electrical savvy but I will try and look for any obvious signs.

you will need WDS,
you will find all info in it, CAS location and wiring/pins as well

Thanks, I will look into that. I once had smoke coming from under the drivers door sill, immediately after my car stopped recognising my key and I had to insert it for it to start.

So that answers why my comfort access has stopped functioning, is the radio amp also controlled by the CAS? I have an individual sound package, would be good to know if I'll be fixing both problems at the same time.

Car is still under CPO, but demodding the downpipe and meth would be a pain in the ass so I will see if I can fix it myself.

Thanks for the guidance, I will report back with my findings.

does the car still run? does it say the error is present/not present?

if the CAS weren't talking to the DME at all, it should not start. Otherwise, it could be an intermittent failure. IMO, the CAS system is complicated enough and you are CPO, it would be best to just take it in and let them fix it.

It does still run, the car performs as expected, its just some if the electrical components that are problematic. The code seems to be constantly present, I clear it and read again and it still shows.

I guess if its that complicated I will leave it until the winter and take it in then, I'd rather not pull all my mods and deal with dealership turnaround time during the good weather.

Thanks
