help with itunes

Hey guys recently my desktop crashed and had a friend over to fix it. He did something and now all my files are in my hard drive, only i don't know where to look. I have called apple and they have told me the link to go to and i followed instructions with no success. It says to go to the search function and all files then type in .m4p but no files come up. I haven't updated my ipod but i learned how to put songs from the ipod back onto my computer but there are still $19 worth of songs missing? anybody know how to find those songs?

Also my audio doesnt work not speakers but the sound card? iono its just dead no sound.

Please help me out. Thanks in advance

Try typing .mp4 , not . m4p

Also, it's generally a good idea to avoid letting friends fix your computer unless they really do know what they're doing.

.mp4 files will basically only apply to songs you bought from Itunes (proprietary files...).. try .mp3 ... However, since you said you are missing $19 from itunes songs, they should be mp4's.

What kind of computer do you have?

Try going into "My Computer"... look for a folder either right in the first screen of "My Computer" or on the first screen inside your primary drive (usually C: ) labeled "Back up", or something similar, usually with a date attached.

Once you open it, you may find what duplicate folders of all the ones on your Primary drive. go into "My Documents" and then "My Music", and then perhaps "I Tunes" .... you may find all your music.

i have a pc or windows w.e you want to call it. Um I can't find it. I have searched music folder with nothing in it. I looked in drive c but cant find anything in there

Im not really pro at computers so something happening like this is really bad. Every file I had before the crash is still here just my friend told me look in search function. I can't even find word or pwrpoint.
