Time change sucks!

Twice a year, I have to adjust no less than 18 time pieces, including our two cars. Not only is this a PITA, it takes me weeks to adjust my tired bod to the change. I wish our lame California Legislature would do away with it.

Meh, I've done it 124 times in my life. Doesn't phase me. Most of my clocks self-adjust now anyway. Just a couple in some of the kitchen appliances that I need to reset.

That said, I'd love to go to full time Daylight Savings Time. But I understand how folks on the far western edge of some times zones may not like that at all. You can't please everyone, so keeping the status quo seems like the least disruptive option.

That reminds me, though. Need to reset Wifey's car clock.

Thanks for reminding me that now I need to visit my parents and go to work. I swear some of the newer vehicles require an engineering degree to change the time.

Yep. Just another first-world gripe. I don't think anyone wants it. Until it's changed, it is what it is. You don't need to change any watches until you wear them. Likewise with the other clocks. Don't bother with them until you drive 'em or use 'em.

Personally, I prefer to just leave it exactly where it is after the change back to standard time overnight. Permanent daylight savings means we’d be changing time zones, which doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, nor does having it dark outside at 8 am or later in winter months. It’s either live with changing clocks or leave them in standard time.

Agreed, standard time is really the best option.

Summer sunsets in Texas happen around 9-9:30pm which is dumb.

But honestly, I just don't care if we leave them DST or Standard. I just want them to stop moving.

Daylight is not the same in the same spot at different times of the year.

Mornings should be sunny earlier than they were yesterday since clocks were pushed back.

Right, changing clocks has zero impact on how many hours of daylight there are in a day. No way to change the way the earth tilts.

I wake up the birds. I leave my house between 6:00 and 6:30, so it’s dark. The hardest part is me getting used to the change. I can’t change the clock in my brain. So I’ll be awake at 3:00 am instead of 4:00 am for weeks.

Well, that’s because we moved it forward in the spring. This is back to normal now.

Just leave the clock where it is, does 1 hour either way really make any difference?

It really doesn't, but my management tends to disagree.

Mornings don’t bother me, up at 4:45 so dark no matter what time of year. Now getting dark earlier takes a little getting used to…. But honestly no reason to do this twice a year, just set it and leave it.
