The meaning of my post was to show that you cannot say "US the is greatest country in the world because we have a better government system that say Mexico which is run by cartels"

Two things:

1- When are we going to stop comparing ourselves with less developed nations such as Mexico and find comfort in it?

2- It doesn't matter if corporation X backs the left or the right... It makes it wrong thus it cannot be used to say "'murica is the greatest nation in the world"

It doesn't matter who donates to who... It is the fact that the government caters for the donors and not the American people. The greatest nation in the world caters for the people, not corporations and/or personal agendas.

Sure it does. People vote for the Democrats because they think the Republicans are the party of the rich elite wall street types. This is part of the divide and demonize campaign they've been running for decades. War on women. Racism. Evil wealthy. Etc. Total bs.

But that said America is the greatest country internally because it offers the greatest opportunity to succeed and improve your life, also well as the most amount of freedoms. It's the greatest externally because it feeds the world, keeps the peace, and steps up in times of international need.

To be fair, Wall Street tends to give more money to Republicans than Democrats due to the fact that republicans tend to favor less regulation that make business difficult or more expensive for the banking industry.

Tech companies and the like tend to give more money to Democrats.

Of course this isn't a set rule, it just depends on who the billionaire/large corporation and who the specific individual is really. They'll give money to whichever party/person they feel will make it easier for them to do business. You'd think none of this news should be surprising but who knows? People are retarded.

France, Australia, UK, Germany, etc... They all step up just like the US.
First one upward mobility is highest in US and income taxes lower.
Second one is a joke. They send token forces. Only one that generally steps up is Britain. Even then in UN forces or any other conflict, both gulf wars for example, US forces outnumber all other countries combined by a wide margin. Generally 2 to one.

Makes sense when you think about it. We invest heavily in the military. That money, while it gets a lot of attention both positive and negative, is to protect our interests.

I have travelled a lot, gone to college abroad, had a career in Europe and always seem to find my way back to Middle America. It is the best for me and my ideals (If the government would just stick to their original purpose and stop trying to be the world police and give handouts to every joe shmo that doesn't want to put forth a fair effort then it would be perfect for me)

Yeah but lets also note that BOTH Gulf Wars where started by the US.. It's not like Saddam invaded US mainland and we had developed an alliance to take out Iraq in response. Also Gulf War 2 was incredibly unpopular in Europe and most of the voters in Europe where highly against their countries getting involved. But since we are going to go there then lets not forget how the French, Germans, Hungarians, and Poles stood shoulder to shoulder with the US during the Revolution. Last I checked without Frances aid the Revolution would have been a epic fail.

Also the US has a population of over 300 million.. Many European countries have a pop of less than 30 million, so you can't exactly expect them to field 200k troops to an invasion when their entire military don't even have those numbers.

That happens for reason... It is my POV that they are not as bellicose as the US so going to war is a big deal to them and to their people. We love to go to war. Example is how this thread has always gone back to US military power. Another reason is the fact that we don't really present our case in a very convincing way (Iraq 2.0 and Hussein's WMD).

A lot of reasons have already been proffered throughout this thread. The burden is now to disprove the statement. The way to disprove a superlative statement (here: "greatest") with a fixed population (here: number of countries) is to provide a counterexample. So: if someone doesn't belive that the US is the greatest country in the world, he/she would need to propose and prove that another country is the greatest country in the world. Merely attacking the reasons why the US is the greatest country is insufficient.
