Some of the comments were mentioning it happened 3 years ago. The lawsuits probably just finished and thats why the video was finally posted.

This is seriously old. Like 2011 old. Probably just didn't want to release the footage until the settlement. But still insane crash. I wonder why they act so surprised when there's an accident.

Allegedly the events in the video took place during the 2011 Gumball 3000.

Those vehicles with marketing logo reminds me of Pyramid Scam (milti-level mkt) companies trying to promote their products with attractive vehicles.

Nah. It's like a charity event or something. Costs between $50 and $120k to get in.

Also, the SL55 he hit belonged to Ice-T, lol.

Jerks....driving fast in the right lane, making too many lane changes, not checking blind spot....and then the coupe de grace.....rear ending some working class dude in a Honda Accord. Not to mention everyone else getting slammed in that traffic.

I hope the R8 driver and everyone else was ok, but someone needs to pay big time for that crash. What an egotistical numbskull. I can see tracking your car and taking it to the limits on a closed course, but driving like you own the whole freeway because you can afford a $100K + car is just nuts!

What I don't get is with the money these guys have to have to buy those vehicles in the video, why the heck wouldn't they spend the money and rent out a track for a day?

It's a demographic thing. The type of person with this sort of car who hangs out with this crowd isn't the type who would ever go to a track. Besides, people who buy used high-end cars aren't as wealthy as everyone thinks...

Because these cars are too much fun to stick to only play with at a track. I mean unless they have huge restraint and keep it civil at all times or only drive their cars to and from the track, they'll be testing these cars' capabilities.

I'm not sure what that means. I could go on with an explanation, but i'd rather not.

There are people who don't piss away money on depreciation just because they have money. You are aware of this right?

Don't ever judge someone by the car they drive.

And what does hanging out with type of crowd mean? You do know there is a hefty price to get into the rally.............right

And endangering everyone around them as their poor judgement is evident in the video. I get wanting to play with any vehicle outside of the track. But there is a time and a place for these things. I normally don't like the heavy handed police enforcement over speeding. But with idiots like these guys who obviously don't care about anyone around them, sadly things are probably going to get worse from the law enforcement side.

This is the same issue the sport biker community is currently dealing with. Squids that think any road they're on is a race track.
