Do you change your e92 with Audi A5/S5? (A5 photos)

Big fan of e90/92, but this audi a5 seems to be a really good alternative, the quality of the a5 is very good and better than e92. The biggest weapon of the e92, driving dynamics, seems to be not effective on A5, tests show that a5 is as good as e92, even better in handling

When you look at the A5, it seems to belong to an upper class with its build quality and dimensions.

What do you think of A5, do you change your e92 for A5/S5?

Wow, that interior is amazing! I'd consider a S5 for my next car.

wouldn't it be "would you switch your E92 for the A5?" or "would you switch your M3 for the S5?" since those are in the same class?

M3 and 335i

330i vs. a5 3.2 fsi quattro, big fight

S5 V8 is rival to upcoming M3 and it's price will reflect that.
A5 is front wheel drive for same money as 335, so no comparison to E92 335.
As for handling dynamics, all reviews thus far put it behind BMW.

S5's price is very close to E92 335 in Europe I guess. It should be lot cheaper than M3. If I would be buying a car now, I would probably buy S5.

yes the price is higher but look at that quality

s5- quattro
3.0 tdi - quattro
3.2 fsi- quattro optional
2.7 tdi - fwd
later 1.8 tfsi - fwd

In reviews, they say that A5/S5 is really impressive on road, I trust Autocar

I love the looks of it, and the interior is much better than the e92's.

The RS5 should be an awesome performer. When pictures of the A5/S5 were leaked the RS5 was rumored to be getting a twin turbo V8 or NA V10. Until it's confirmed that it's getting either one, I'm expecting to see the 4.2L V8 from the RS4/R8. If they do it right, could you imagine the RS5 with a motor similar to the last RS6? Holy shit..

Well obviously the S5 looks to be in an upper class...probably because it is in an upper class (with an upper class price tag too).

Honestly though, the body of the A5 looks a LOT like the E92 to me. Which means I think the A5 looks pretty nice. But no way I would have gone with the A5. I'll take my E92 every day of the week! I love my car!

if audi decides to produce RS5, it will be very powerful > 500 hp

audi made a prototype for rs5, bi turbo V10, 650 hp

but most probably, there will not be a car called RS5

I'm pretty sure there is an RS5 model coming. There's spy photos of an S5 will test equipment all over it running around Audi's test track. Doesn't really make sense to be testing a car that's already complete.

On another note, it's more along the lines of the M5, but Audi does have a new RS6 coming soon. Since the S6 already has a V10, it would probly get the extra power by adding a couple turbos. This car is supposed to coming sometime in 08', but they could always throw that motor in the RS5 too. I spose a twin turbo V10 will do :rocks:

If there is a 650hp Audi in the pipeline, BMW will be way behind power wise. I think Audi's got some heavy hitters coming to bat in the next couple years.

S5 has better standard equipment than 335. For the price I paid for my 335 (see my sig) I could have got an S5 with quite good options.

580? I was thinking they would best the M5/M6 by maybe 20-30hp, and then 600hp would just be a tune away. Since it's 580hp, with some pretty basic mods and a tune, dare I say 700hp?

Maybe Audi took the comments from BMW about not being true competitors to heart. Looks like they're on a mission.

I looked at the S5 before placing my 335 order last month.

Handling and feel both inferior to the 335. They are clearly holding a bit back for the RS5.

S5 petrol gives 12 mpg around town.

The Audi dealer network and customer service is rubbish - even worse than BMW!

I agree with you in that. I have also an Audi TT and only bad experience with the service.

If I could afford to feed the thirst S5 v8, I wouldve considered it. It's not very modable and that was one of the primary factors in making my decision. If it wasn't a factor, i'd definitely get the S5. It's nearly flawless. Does anyone happen to know the US S5 base price?
