it's exactly 3770 lbs. that's closer to 3800 than 3700. Take a look at Edmuds, R&T, C&D magazines.

i am much more impressed with the new G sedan than the new coupe. I have to wait till the coupe comes out to test-drive it. In any case im already disappointed by the G37, and thus im here on a bimmer forum

the car gained about 400 lbs, 51 hp to the wheels (altho new engine only gains 30 hp output, thanks to improved drivetrain) and gained 2 lb/ft torque.
The outgoing G35 coupe 6MT with the rev-up motor weighs 3524 according to Infiniti specifications. The G37 with 6MT weighs 3668 according to the same source. So that means it's gained 144 lbs since the 2007 Coupe. Magazine numbers will vary based on packages. In most of the magazines, 4WAS was fitted, which will add quite a bit of weight.

Also, the engine output increased 37 crank horsepower if we are looking at the 6-speeds (which it seems is what you are comparing judging by the weight and torque figures you used). It was 293 (new SAE) now it's 330.

Using the 6MT again for torque, it gained 12 ft-lbs at the crank (258 up to 270), and that has shown up as ~20 wheel-ft-lbs across most of the rev range according to Automobile mag.

It should be decently faster than the outgoing G35 coupe, but not a whole lot faster than the new G35 sedan. It has gained about 150 lbs (plus option packages) but a fair amount of both wheel horsepower and wheel torque, when using consistent numbers.

that's probably including sports package, but definitely not including the 4ws package. anyway, it dont matter. it's a nice car after all, i just had higher expectations and was disappointed.

I had higher (well lower) expectations for the weight too. I am curious to see someone's opinion on the g37 who has spent a significant amount of time in a G35, though. Namely, how much quicker the G37 feels in passing conditions vs. mostly just the 1/4 mi numbers we've gotten so far. I'd like to see 2nd gear 30-60, 3rd gear 40-80, etc...

Alright I came home and went straight on here to give my review of the 2008 g37, and let me say i was impressed by it. I mean it was no 335, but it was pretty damn close if you ask me. Power wise i gotta say it was so close i couldn't even tell the difference i would have to test drive the 335 again i mean i really felt that 330 horses the engine growled like no other it was pure music to my ears hearing that v6 reving.

Interior wise well they did improve on it some what i gotta give bmw the win for that it wasn't all that bad but its what you expect in a sports car. The comfort was pretty good since it was a coupe it didn't have the best leg room for the back seat, but it was good enough for the driver and front passenger. The pick up of the car was amazing though i took off from the dealers lot hitting 80 in know time, and unlike a bimmer i couldn't really feel that heaviness of the car maybe because the v6 made up for that.

Over all I'm going tomorrow to order one I don't know what exactly I'm getting in it but I know the price is going to be around 33ish so that's like 15k less then the 335 that i ordered before. I am going to keep my E90 as well so I'm not going to be a trader

Pictures coming soon maybe tomorrow. i test drove a silver with gray interior so it was pretty nice looking color combo. I'm really excited now

how's trunk space? how was navi or sound system? how was handling? does it sound like the current G (exhaust) or different?

it was auto they didn't have a stick on the lot that i could test drive. trunk space probably the same as the 335, the navi was pretty kool i have to admit it was way better/ easier then idrive i didn't get to listen to the sound system sorry. Handling was pure sex that's all i have to say about that and the exhaust is way better and deeper then the current g.

actually from the autospies pictures the trunk looks non-existent just like my G35 which is about 1/2 or 1/3 335's trunk.
I wish a lot of interior elements come from G37 (or g35 sedan) to 335, like navigation. oh well...

great man, im glad you had fun. there's nothing better than driving sexy cars around

it looks nice from the pictures. It's more modern and stylish (more futuristic).
I still dont like the interior though.

Looks like a great car. Outside still doesn't look like a huge change from the 35, imo. The interior... meh. Still lacks. Engine note sounds amazing.

Beautiful sound.

While I was checking out that site, I stumbled across this statistic about average age of the drivers. BMW 3-series - 51?

trunk space is nearly identical to the G35 coupe - so yeah, pretty small.

The navigation package lets you load cds, mp3s, use a compact flash card, and has an ipod interface which displays on the nav and can be controlled by the nav or steering wheel controls.

The bose studio on wheels should be nearly identical to the G35 sedan. IMO, it's at worst the second best stock audio system I've ever heard in a car after the mark levinson in the is350.

Yeah, revs to 7500 and that's awesome to hear that the exhaust sounds as great as ever!

when i saw it at Stillen's and sat in it i felt pictures do not do it justice. It definitely looks better in person.
I really wish i can get both G37 and 335 now... hmmm. I just expect first year to have some annoying bugs and recalls, but later the car will be pretty reliable.

anyway, i forgot to ask you, how's the inside noise, and rattles/clunks etc?

The 3rd gen Acura TL ELS sound system only sounds good if you play a DVD-Audio. The car comes with a sample DVD-Audio. It's great for testing out the ELS sound system when you first pick up the car or test drive it. But if you really want to test out the system, play the Linkin Park DVD-Audio.
