Anyone got a rebel XSI review?

I'm trying to decide between an Canon rebel xsi or a EOS 40d...just wondering if anyone's got the new xsi and had a chance to play around with it!

Thx, I looked at those reviews already, but the Xsi review is still old, they haven't actually reviewed it since it came out...just wondering if anyone's had any hands-on time with the Xsi

It has not come out yet. The XTI is the older model, XSI ships on 1 May.

You're right... quite a few stores say it's in stock now, though for $100 more than last week. Newegg has it for the low low price of $1200!!!

For some reason Amazon now says the body will be released on June 15.

I got it on Monday at Circuit City. Canceled Amazon order since they pushed back shipping date to June 26. I don't have review yet.

LCD looks awesome though.

I look forward to your review. I just picked up a Nikon D60 at costco with 2 VR lenses to play with for a while. If the XSI gets raving reviews, I will likely return the Nikon. What lens did you get with your unit and why?

I have a Canon 40D and a 24-105mm f/4.0L IS USM Lens in shipment right now... I figured it was worth the extra $250 for the 40D over the XSI. But to get to your question, I chose this lens on a friend's recommendation and review from here.

My choice for this lens is twofold: everything I've read points to the lens being more important than the body, and if I'm going to buy a lens I'm going to get the best optics I can (otherwise you'll be in that syndrome of 'I wish I bought that one'). 24-105 is a good all-around, and I'll shoot with it for a while to get the feel for what other lenses I need to accomplish the type of photos I want to shoot. I already feel I'll need a wider aperture one for low-light, but not sure of the range.

Don't hold your breath, I'm a newbie. I got the kit lens because it's cheap, and have Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS AF on order.

Here's review of the lens:
