Health question

Does anyone here have occasional blood in their poop or poop out blood?

It happened to me kinda big time last week, and I think it was caused by working out my abs too much at the gym. Right now, I'm just taking honey and water, it helps big time with the pain and stuff. I stopped going to the gym as for now.

I did see a doctor and he told me not to worry about it. I think if it continues and continues, I'll have to go back to my doc.

Yeah, nothing wrong for now. I haven't had a colonoscopy though. Too young for it as I was told. Anyway, I'm saying bye bye to my six pack abs.

just do lighter weights and more reps to have cut abs... u dont need each ab to be the size of ur 2 fists put together. just make sure the wieghts are heavy enough that you feel the burn after the 15th rep. do like 5 sets of 30 reps of whatever wieghts you do...

no1 said u cant stay a sexy beast

How old are you?

You should get a second opinion about this.

yea, if i sometimes go overboard on the spice (lets just say my cup of noodles soup is RED when the original color was tan before putting in that spice), and it causes a little red in my domain.

How old are you? Depending on age, you might want to do a colonoscopy. If you have a pollup (sp?), you poop can tear them causing blood in your stool.

U have a family history?

I would get a second opinion.

Trying to not get too sick here, but what exactly does it look like? Is it painful at all?

I remember watching a show on the Health Channel, and this guy had all sort of symptoms, and bloody stool was one of them. I believe he had a tear somewhere in his colon.

If you are able to have colonoscopy, or whatever it's called, make sure it's the one that views your entire system. Not just up to a certain point. No matter what a doctor tells you, look it up online and do your own homework. Doctors may know a lot, but they aren't all knowing.

I can't believe I'm posting on this thread; but, if it helps someone, good. You didn't describe the blood, but since you said it was blood I assume it was pretty red. If your stool were dark and tarry (which is also due to blood, but from further up in the GI tract, like from an ulcer), I would worry. However, since it's red, it's probably rectal in nature, perhaps from an internal hemorrhoid or an anal fissure. That's probably why the doctor told you not to worry.

Listen...so far I'm probably the closest to a doctor that's responded.....this situation can literraly be casued by many, many different things. It's usually not anything to be concerned with, unless 1) it continues for some time, 2) the color of the blood is dark, or becomes dark, or 3) a significant amount of pain becomes evident. Yes...a colonoscopy might be in order down the road...but they may prefer to do a sigmoidoscopy first...which can be done by a large numper or primary care physicians.

To be honest...the most common cause of a problem like this is hemroids. However there is far to little data here to make that assumption. Diet has very little to do with it, that is a bit of a myth.

You would have different symptoms if you had an ulcer (can cause blood in your stools)...which by is not caused by diet, or stress (big myth). Diet and stress can aggrivate an already establised ulcer, but they don't cause it.

But i'm getting way ahead of myself....just keep an eye on it, and if it persists, then go see a primary care physician (PCP).

Tell your doctor you're still concerned, and get a referral to a gastroenterologist (GI doc). He/she will confirm if it's an anal fissure or internal/external hemorrhoids.

It's probably nothing, but good to know for sure.

As a physician,

You need to see a physician and have a diagnosis made. The list of possibilites are simple and benign things (hemorrhoids, anal fissures) to important things (inflammatory bowel disease) to life threatening things (cancer).

Do not settle with "you are fine" without an appropriate examination and evaluation.

Best wishes. Feel free to PM with any questions.

My sis just had that problem and passed it off. It came back to....you guessed it..... bit her in the ass.

Go back and tell them to knock you out before they stick it in your pooper.

I am sorry man, but without health, you are screwed.
