I think it's been proven that the GTR is a better 1/4 mile car wheareas the Gallardo is better in top end races such as this. The Gallardo is also a much lightercar by comparison, much more aerodynamic and is geared to favor an event like this.

yeah the races seemed short, but they where hitting 190-200mph already! Shows how fast these cars really are.

Wow. I had the opportunity at TX2K12 to see these TT Superleggera beasts. No car could touch'em on the streets. AMS's Omega is still incredibly fast

It's been said, in both races, the Lambos got the jump. I still think the Lambos would win but it would have been very close if they took off at the same time.
