First of all, it seems like very few people, even here in ontario understand how no fault insurance works. The Ferrari's own insurance will pay for the repair of the car and the Dart's insurance will fix the Dart. Of course that doesn't change the fact that fault will be assigned to the Dart driver and it will go on his record. This will put him in a higher risk category which means a significant increase in premiums.

Secondly, that car is far from totaled. The engine and all the major components are in the back. There's probably nothing more than a subframe and a few body panels up front. It is repairable. And cost is immaterial. Such rare classic cars are almost always repaired, never written off, even when the repair can exceed the cost of the car.
