Radar Detectors

Hey guys!

After hearing some stories about speeding tickets, radar detectors popped up into my mind. Has anyone ever had experience with these? Does anyone use one now in their Bimmer? I live in NY, and I am pretty sure they are legal. But if they actually worked, why doesn't everyone have one? Are they "too good to be true"?

Thanks!

They are not legal in VA and DC and possibly a couple of other states.

But yes, radar detectors have been around for 25-30 years. Of course they work.
