My only guess is it was a mechanical failure and there was enough fuel to have run another lap as well as provide the minimum sample for the FIA.
Only qualify sessions that drivers are required to return to parc ferme in their own power.

End of race, they are only require to provide sufficient fuel sample. But not required to return to pit in their own power.

ok fine let's wait til it is mathematically impossible for the other teams to dethrone us then LOL

Not so soon.

The gap is close enough for kimi to poke seb with his magnum ice cream~

A very tense final 10 laps!!!
And the self-driving Marussia could be their next break-through technology!!!

Hilarious to see the tractor trying to catch the Marussia but then stop on the edge of the track.

my heart was literally stomping out of my chest from the RAI last pit stop with his soft and chomping down on VET's lead. the cliff was near though wasnt it, so when they say if the track was a few more laps, whose to know if RAI coulda finished with the softs?!?!!?!?

Paul is doing okay from what I hear, wont be returning to work anytime soon though, 6 weeks at least.

Crazy when you see it on TV then sit there and realise he's a colleague

Wow, crazy that you know him. Saw he broke his collarbone and a couple of ribs.

Atleast this past weekend NBC got the programming right, although in efforts to avoid a mishap I decided to watch the live broadcast on Telemundo. Surprisely it was more climactic than English broadcasting. They made the webber incident seem as if the camera man was Knocked out and uncontious, had to be medevaced out and was clinging on to dear life. They also made the whole marussia incident seem as the car was seconds away from full meltdown/detonation. Gotta love those Latin broadcasters lol.

Speaking of the Spanish broadcast, found it nice to have. Was switching there during NBCs endless commercials.

Seriously, I don't care what it costs. How the hell can I get either sky or BBC broadcast live here in the states?!

That incident with the cameraman is going to change coverage of the pit stops pretty dramatically. No more cameras in the pit lane. Pit lane speed dropped by 20kph, too.

Maybe the FIA will allow fixed overhead cameras for coverage?

Yeah, interestingly enough the wheel hit a camera which is what it flicked up on, I took that camera to Canon yesterday

And the Cameraman (Paul) is fine and on the way to a full recovery and has now been released from hospital, and should be back in the UK soon.
