Are those bolts one time use only?

I guess it would depend on how many miles are on your car and how many times you have changed the trans fluid. They are not one time use.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they are one-time use since they're an aluminum alloy. If you have the older T27 head bolts, they tend to strip easily during removal which is why ZF later replaced them with larger head T40 bolts. If you have T40 bolts, a lot of people buy a few "just in case" and don't replace them since they're pretty pricey. The key is to carefully torque them to the correct specifications (believe it's only 6 ft/lbs but you should double-check to be sure).

Unless they have blue paint on the end, they are not one time use.

Sorry, but that's incorrect. While all blue-painted bolts are one-time use, not all one-time bolts are painted blue. ZF makes the transmission, not BMW, and they don't paint the bolt heads. If they're aluminum, they're one-time use.

Mine are rusted, so they are not aluminum (or at least not on all models). I have a 330i too. I'd replace only the rusted ones and reuse the other ones. They are kind of pricey at $3 per bolt and something like 24 of them oO
