I might be in the minority here but I'm just not a fan of pushrod, cross-plane crank V8s. Sure they're big and make power easily but the sound and powerband is just not my thing and is the main reason why I'd never even consider a Corvette. I like flat-plane crank, screaming motors you rev the piss out of.

It also gives the anti-Corvette guys something to bitch about.

I personally am a fan of letting the performance speak for itself, and clearly it does. I just think it could be a better product if they made a relatively simple change.

Are you sure? Is it that simple?

I'm not positive, but I am relatively certain. It is difficult to argue that coil-overs are inferior.

I say it is relatively simple because the aftermarket has figured it out without major modifications. In the design stage it would be relatively simple for the OE Manufacturer to implement it.

Last time I checked, the Vettes dominate on tracks with that leaf spring.

You should go look at the Car and Driver videos. The suspension engineer pretty much explained why they didn't go to coilovers.

I listened, his case was weak, he even stated that lots of track guys will change to coil overs.

Like I have said from the beginning, I like the car and this is the one place where they left a little bit on the table.

Again, how is it a "bit they left on the table" when its undeniably proven to kick the competitions asses on the track?

they could fine tune the car a bit more (what do they use on their race cars?) even in the video they were talking about uncontrolled body movement.

I'm not going to argue just to argue, and I'm not saying that is isn't/won't be great, I am saying that it could be a little bit better, maybe the track performance could be exactly the same but the rise could be more comfortable with no uncontrolled motion

Seems like you're being nitpicky on something you haven't yet experienced. You also have to keep in mind, this is the BASE model Corvette they're unveiling here. Why would they throw their full-on race technology into it, when they'll have the Z06 following in a year or two?

YES!

I am being nitpicky, that was my original point!

This is the one thing left that the anit-Corvette crowd (not me) will point to and bitch about, and an area where an improvement could be made (however slight).

I guess I just see them as leaving something on the table, besides motor, that they can do for the Z06. It's already getting 3 option levels of their magneto ride suspension components, so I can't blame them if they want to leave something out there to improve in two years.

The C7 Z06 and ZR-1 (if/when the make one) will be amazing.

Agreed, although the wheels look no better than stock. I'm anxious to see one in black, or white.

You're right, I bet they could sell more than the 10 of these they sell per year if they would "fix" it...

Oh wait. They sell a ton of these things.

I swore I read someone posted about the interior looking similar to the supra but now I can't find it. Now I'm arguing with a friend about how they look similar and he can't see how they look similar. Can someone chime in on this for me, maybe even do a photo comparison.

Okay, the one on HREs looks a lot better (the offsets could be a little more aggressive. they're flat as pancakes with zero concavity)
