Those mac/windows % statistics generally include servers as well. Not really an accurate #. Regardless, marketshare doesn't really mean much anyways. I run Mac OS X and dual boot Win 7 for gaming.

results of this poll are going to be very lopsided. the majority of the world can't afford macs, but a bmw forum is going to be loaded with mac users. real world results are going to vary drastically.

macs are overpriced just because there "macs" (flame suit on because i know theres a lot of apple fan boys here)

True, but his target audience is probably just as important. Our business website traffic shows 71% mac, 28% windows. The numbers themselves don't mean anything, but it shows that our main target is the mac user base.

At home:

- OS X Tiger on my macbook
   - Windows XP SP3 (guest OS running inside VirtualBox on OS X host)
- Arch Linux running on desktop/fileserver
   - FreeBSD 7 (guest OS running inside VirtualBox running on Arch host)
   - OpenBSD 4.5 (guest OS running inside VirtualBox running on Arch host)
   - OpenSolaris (guest OS running inside VirtualBox running on Arch host)
   - Windows XP SP3 (guest OS running inside VirtualBox running on Arch host)

The three XP installations are the same image. They basically are exported as appliances every so often and stored on my USB thumb drive. Those installations are used for VPN and support work for my job.
