Nice car, but forgive me for being mislead.

If you want to come on and brag about the car dad bought for you, fine do so. Just don't hold back when admitting who really made the purchase. I have nothing against you but being a car enthusiast, I would like to ask you a question in a civilized manner. Even if my father had bought me the car, why is it such a big issue?

I thank God that he was there to pay for all my needs while I was growing up, my school fees, for my college fee, rents, etc etc. Even if I thank God a million times for giving me great parents, it would be less for sure. So your right. Everything I make, belongs to my dad as he invested money on my upbringing.

Anyway, I don't need to tell you this but just for the sake, I have worked in my father's company for around 7-8 years. I also took care as to which car would be in my budget and just FYI, it was gathered from my salary and commissions, along with part or full time jobs in other companies so that I could gather experience and a bit of extra money.
But I guess these things don't matter, as in your eyes or someone else's, I will always be that someone who took advantage of his dad financial resources.
Next time I post some pics of my car, I will surely attach my CV, work experience and financial data just for the members whom I don't know, to prove to them that this money is legit and its all due to my hardwork.
But to no avail, it would still be a favor from my father, right?

At any rate, congrats on the purchase (regardless of purchaser).
Actually, it's not that good to be in Dubai. Recession has hit us hard but we are still breathing ain't we ?

And as I mentioned before, I was already making a big jump from a Accord to Corvette. So I guess I don't need the fancy Grandsport body kit or something. Even if its a normal version, in my eyes, this car is a like a super car to me. CORVETTE>CAMARO!

Hey man. Thanks for that. I read reports that it might be 2 years but I dunno what to believe in. I'm still happy though. This car is a beast.

Nice Vette. The C6 is a nice car with a lot of low torque. Would be a great car to have! Hope you have some good miles out of it.

Why care so much about who bought the car for him. The fact that he said he couldn't afford the car he wanted and acknowledge that his dad provided the financial help and advice to get the car makes him a straight up guy to me. i have a thread titled "i finally bought a zoom-zoom" in a mazda forum and in that thread i acknowledge that my mom provided the financial help so that could be why i dont see anything misleading with this thread.

Hey man, thanks for the grammar lesson. I guess words put on a thread in the incorrect way don't really translate as to how much I love and appreciate my father. Thanks again.

D...wipe?

Unhappy childhood? That's some Dr. Phil action right there.

You said he bought it for you right there in plain sight for everyone to read.

This place is still a trip.

Congrats!

That was directed at the guy that was giving you a hard time.

Please ignore my above remarks, I was in a horribly bitter mood yesterday and my anger was directed in the wrong fashion. Something that doesn't happen to me often, but something I am not proud of none the less.

My best friend was a Marine and killed last August, and a member here made a crude remark regarding our armed forces, and then not even an hour later my friends fiance, directly attacked the memory of my friend. Remember, perspective is 9 10ths of the law, and often times when someone is angry it is due to something else. Again I apologize for my remarks, and the way I came across.

I do somewhat stand by what I said however, I really meant it to not be so brazen. I only meant congradulations, but was just curious as to if your dad had bought it for you. There certainly is no problem if he did, as I said above (but in a manner that does not reflect how I would normally act) I would love to be able to have someone else buy me a car, and I would most certainly brag about it. I definitely meant no ill-will, just misdirected anger and frustration.

Again, that is truly a sweet car, one that you will enjoy for a long time to come. Just be sure you enjoy it on the track, where it was meant to be fully enjoyed!

I'm not going to read the comments regarding my posts, as again, it came across completely wrong and after sleeping on it I cannot believe my own reaction. Again, this is not the way I would normally handle things or act towards another person.

Wow, I think the 135i is a beautiful and fairly aggressive car, but it looks fairly "dorky" next to the vette.

Yeah, side by side its plain as day which one is a Sports Coupe and which one is a true Sports Car.
Most people dont know the Corvette has smaller dimensions than a 911.
I love the 135i but the Vette is a whole nother thing.

I miss my FD rx7, pulling up to people only to see their wheels or door panel. Would of never guessed that the vette has smaller dimensions either, it's always seemed like a fairly big car to me. Need to have my eyes adjusted.

BMW or Vette? See you have a Corvette. My Vettes are CCW's. They're not cheap but not crazy expensive either. LG makes a similar version that look like the CCW's but are less expensive due to being cast not forged. You can sometimes find the LG wheels used at a better price.
