Stopped by Lux Motorwerks yesterday and thought I'd share some sights.

There was a 1979 Camaro Z-28 with a little more than 2k original miles... A matte pink Range Rover... And a yellow and purple Porsche Turbo S.its always interesting to stop by Lux!

That is some hideous shit. Guess money doesn't buy brains. Owners of the shop aren't faultless either. Couldn't pay me enough to ruin cars like that Rover and 911 like that. I'd rather turn away the business.

Don't miss the stitching in seat, doors, steering wheel, etc was replaced with purple thread. The Turbo S guy went all the way with his vision!

Think about how much it would suck if you had the time, money, and vision, but the shop that had the ability to make your vision a reality wouldn't do it because it isn't how they wanted. At this level, a shop's project often doesn't include design... Sometimes you are hired to make someone else's vision a reality.

Who has a vision like that?? Not somebody with working eyes. Those cars belong in the drunk thread.

Then again, after looking at their site, its clear why I can't stand their cars. Its all about the visual stuff. To me, the show is secondary to the go.

Nice thing about having money to do that type of custom work is they likely don't give a shit what anyone else thinks of their design.

Yeah, it's not my taste at all, but I don't have to drive it.

I do design work for houses, and one of the things I tell my clients is that I am not there to push MY designs on theirs. I will make recommendations against things they may want, citing that for resale it may limit their prospective buyer base. But if they want to go forward with it . . . what do I care?

Best part is that they don't get offended when we laugh at their rides because they don't care, and we don't care that they don't care. It's a win-win all around except for the poor cars.
